    A desire from the 50s

After months of testing and a dozen prototypes, we were finally happy with our Metro Pants.

It perfectly embodied our vision: raw denim, designed to last, stand out and adapt to all situations.

    But something was missing...

And there, the result of chance or a well-oiled Instagram algorithm, we will never know... but Aimane sees this photo from another time pass by on her feed, the one where Britney Spears was going out with Justin Timberlake.

That's where we got the idea: a denim set, faithful to the Canadian Tuxedo spirit, this emblematic silhouette where jacket and pants match in the same material.

In the world of denim, this set is a must have, a style statement.

The Myth of the Canadian Tuxedo

The Canadian Tuxedo is more than a look, it's a legend.

The story goes back to the 1950s, when Bing Crosby was refused entry to a hotel because he was wearing a total denim look.

A mistake quickly corrected by Levi's, who made him a denim suit to mark the occasion.

Since then, this look has become a symbol of timeless style, a perfect balance between raw elegance and chic casualness.

What we wanted was to reinterpret this classic with our own touch: a set designed for today, but which remains faithful to this heritage, appropriating the codes while giving them contemporary touches.

    The game of details

At Maison Les Dames, details are a bit of an obsession.

With the Pantin Jacket, every element has been thought out to create a unique piece. The front and back panels? They are there to match those of the Metro Pants. It's a subtle but essential nod.

And then, we opted for two large flap pockets on the front, but with a twist: a side opening, like a kangaroo pocket. It's a nod to hoodies and bombers, iconic pieces of the street wardrobe that are above all designed for comfort.

We wanted to be able to slip our hands into our pockets naturally, like in our favorite sweatshirt, without asking questions.

In addition, with the triple thickness of fabric at the pockets, the jacket gains volume and structure, which will give it an even heavier and more solid appearance.

It is this robust and resistant character that we wanted to integrate into the Pantin Jacket: a mixture of functionality and design, faithful to the workwear spirit.

An everyday piece with discreet branding

We wanted this jacket to be versatile.

The idea was to create a garment that you could put on without thinking, whether you were going to work, going out for a drink or simply strolling around town. It had to be able to adapt to your daily life while adding a stylish touch.

For this, we bet on a straight cut, timeless and easy to wear. The minimalist design allows it to be combined with all kinds of outfits. And above all, we chose a thick, super resistant denim so that you can wear it every day if you want.

At first, we had imagined embroidery on the pockets, like on some of our previous pieces. But in the end, we decided to play the sobriety card.

The result? Buttons embossed with the Maison Les Dames logo.

It's this kind of detail that makes us happy, branding that's not showy, but still there to add a little touch of personality to the piece.

Each finish was designed to enhance the jacket without overdoing it. We wanted it to speak for itself, through its quality and design.

    The variations and the homage

The Pantin Jacket comes in two colors: raw denim, with a simple wash for flexibility and a beautiful indigo effect, and a black version, a sober and elegant classic.

Purists will undoubtedly recognize Japanese references in the cut and details of the Pantin Jacket.

This is precisely what we love so much about Japanese denim culture: this meticulous attention to detail, this obsession with artisanal know-how.

Every seam, every finish, every insert is thought out with precision, giving life to pieces that are both unique and ultra-functional.

And finally, why Pantin jacket? Because that's where this jacket was born, in our partner workshops. We wanted to pay tribute to this place, because that's where everything took shape.

Pantin, in addition to being a way of remaining faithful to our values of craftsmanship and proximity, is the soul of this piece, an urban reference in Paris, the suburbs, where the artistic creations of the new wave emerge.
